President's Message
Hello Everyone,
I hope you have been enjoying the
fantastic weather we've been hav¬
ing. I would like to extend out a
very heart felt Mother's Day wish
to all the mothers in the NUTS
Club. Thank you for all that you do
for your family.
A big thanks goes out to Mr. Lee McKenzie for his
fantastic presentation on hard time tokens. It is
interesting to discover the historical correlation
between the past and present governmental posi¬
tions.
A reminder that the NUTS Club Coin Show will be
June 21^^ and 22*^^. Please help us promote the show.
Tell your friends, sale raffle tickets and please vol¬
unteer at the front ticket desk. We will have a sign
up list at the meeting.
This month's guest speaker will be our very own Mike
Morey talking about the mining and recreational his¬
tory of Alta Utah. He will have some amazing items
to show and information to share. This will be an
incredible evening that will increase our understand¬
ing and appreciation for this Utah town. You will def¬
initely want to order this years NUTS Club medal
that depicts the amazing history of Alta.
I look forward to seeing you all at the meeting.

Salt Lake City Trolley Coaches
This drawing was done by Milt Sorensen of Meridian, Idaho in 1981 of a Utah Light and Traction
Company Coach 402 probably a Versare Coach. The Salt Lake Light and Traction Co was the owner and
operator of the trolley system that operated in the Salt Lake Valley. The trolley coaches began
operation in Salt Lake City in September 9, 1928 and ended after World War II in 1947-48. One of the
conveniences of running these coaches was that they took power from two overhead wires carry 650
Volts Direct Current, but did not need steel rails to run on. They were very quiet and smooth riding and
could go right up to the curb to unload and load, there are still some of these running in the United
States and other places around the world. The colors would have been yellow and white (before Salt
Lake City Lines took over).
